UPF LECTURE / Anders Kompass / From exchange student in Guatemala to UN chief for international human rights /
“During a year as a teenager I was in love with Dag Hammarskjöld in a way that I think reminds a lot of the women’s relations to Jesus in the New Testament.“
With over 30 years of experience of Latin America, Anders Kompass seems to have an endless list of exciting journeys and roles to play: exchange student in Guatemala; Deputy Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the UNDP Headquarters; Director for OHCHR in Geneva; suspended whistleblower; UN friend of the year; Senior Advisor for the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs – those are just a few examples.
What lessons can we learn from Anders Kompass? How can we stand up for what is right when faced with resistance? Can you do more in the field or behind the desk?
The lecture will start at 19.00 and you are welcome to join us in Palaestra for a pre-mingle from 18.30
Free entrance for all UPF members
