Islamophobia is an enormous problem today, both in Sweden and around the world. A 2021 report made by the UN reported that over the last few years discrimination and hatred have risen to ”epidemic proportions”. The burden is double for Muslim women, who are in most European countries the main targets of Islamophobic hate crimes, speech and violence.

The burden is double for Muslim women, who are in most European countries the main targets of Islamophobic hate crimes, speech and violence.
This lecture, hosted by Valley Ghanem from Islamakademin in Malmö, will touch upon a variety of topics related to Islamophobia from a woman’s perspective, from stereotypes to public discourse. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss what we’ve learned.
