The Foreign Policy Association

The Foreign Policy Association Lund (UPF) is a religiously and politically unaffiliated student association with the aim of promoting debate on international issues and raising Lund students' awareness of the outside world. The association organizes lectures, study trips and social activities, offers career preparation activities and houses several media.
UPF arranges one to two talks a week where a relevant person (e.g. diplomat, journalist or researcher) discusses an interesting issue - everything from the war situation in Afghanistan and climate threats to the influence of drug cartels in Colombia and Muslim popular culture. The lectures usually take place at Cafe Athen in AF-borgen.
The media committees fulfill a major function at UPF; the association broadcasts radio every Wednesday at 17-18 and publishes the newspaper Utrikesperspektiv which is available in both printed form and online edition. UPF is proud of its media; Radio UPF has, among other things, won the Stora radio prize three times and the newspaper has fostered several successful journalists.
In recent years, the association has been visited by people such as Kofi Annan, Carl Bildt and Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi. For up-to-date information on talks, please visit our website or spring fan page on Facebook.
