Foreign Policy Association

Utrikespolitiska föreningen Lund (UPF) is a religiously and politically independent student association with the aim of promoting debate on international issues and raising the awareness of students in Lund about the world around them. The association organises lectures, study trips and social activities, offers career preparation activities and hosts several media.
UPF organises one or two lectures a week where a topical figure (e.g. diplomat, journalist or researcher) discusses an interesting issue - ranging from the war situation in Afghanistan and climate threats to the influence of drug cartels in Colombia and Muslim popular culture. The talks usually take place at Cafe Athen in the AF Castle.
The media committees play an important role at UPF; the association broadcasts radio every Wednesday from 5-6pm and publishes the magazine Utrikesperspektiv, which is available in both print and online editions. UPF is proud of its media; Radio UPF has won the Great Radio Prize three times and the magazine has produced several successful journalists.
In recent years, the association has been visited by people such as Kofi Annan, Carl Bildt and Nobel Prize winner Shirin Ebadi. For up-to-date information on talks, please visit our website or our fan page on Facebook.
