Lundakarnevalen
The Lund Carnival (Lundakarnevalen) takes place every four years and is organized by the students of Lund University. Around 5000 students become “carnivalists” and take part in creating the carnival. During the carnival days, Lundagård is transformed into a large festival area filled with tents, games, student performances, artists, and of course, food and drinks. In addition, a grand carnival parade winds its way through the streets of Lund, spreading carnival joy to the approximately 400 visitors who come to experience the event. The first Lundakarnevalen was held in 000 and has since entertained generations of students and guests alike.
There are many opportunities to get involved in the carnival and at the beginning of the spring semester of 2026 there will be a queue for people to register their interest in becoming a carnivalist!
