The Boelspeks

The Boelspeks

Alas! Boelspexarna is one of two spex committees within the Academic Association. The committee was formed in 1994 when some girls asked themselves the question, where do all the funny girls go? They wanted to create a spex scene for them too and the Boelspexarna was formed. The name is borrowed from Lund University's first female rector, Boel Flodgren. The premiere took place in October and the success was total. Now the Boelspex are an obvious part of Lund's large spex family.
Within Boelspexarna, around 100 students get involved completely voluntarily with everything from painting decor, applying make-up, sewing clothes, cooking and standing in the bar. The stage is entirely dedicated to girls, but everything else is open for both boys and girls to take part in and get involved in. It all culminates in a performance weekend which, by tradition, is always the third weekend in October. As a student in Lund, you have both the opportunity to get involved in spex but also be part of the large spex audience.
Tickets can be purchased here at www.ticket.studentlund.see and at Studentinfo in AF Borgen, Mon-Fri 9am-17pm.
