Bleckhornen

Bleckhornen

AcademiMusicCorpset Bleckhornen is Lund's oldest student orchestra, founded in 1956. The orchestra, together with the Ballet Ballet, plays and dances to wind music in all genres and in all imaginable and unimaginable contexts. The ambition is to combine good musicianship with student-oriented entertainment. The set is a typical student orchestra set but with double reeds and without banjo. We can be recognised by the white clothes and the colour combination of white dots on a red background.
The highlight of the year is our Christmas concert, given in the Great Hall of the Academic Association, when we dress up in tails and long dresses instead of our otherwise very stylish white uniform. In addition to the Christmas concert, we go to student orchestra festivals in either Linköping or Uppsala in the spring, and in the summer we go abroad together.
The Bleckhornen have the club building "Tarmen" with rooms for the board, social gatherings and meetings. It also houses the notary archive, with more than a thousand arrangements of our own and others' pens.
We are not a faculty-bound association, but all students at Lund University are welcome to join our merry band. We have orchestra rehearsals every Thursday at 18.45, usually in the Chapel Hall at Palæstra et Odeum, and ballet rehearsals every Tuesday at 19.45 at Vårfruskolan.
The Bleckhorn's motto is Whatever in wind music, Wherever, Whenever, Whatever, Whatever!
Wrong!
