Ever since the end of the 1600th century, the nations have worked for the well-being of students during their time at university. Today, this mainly means that you have a rich selection of nightclubs, pubs and bars. But this is not all, the nations have a wide range of activities including sports, sports, catering, elegant balls and a lot of student accommodation and scholarships.
All nations are named after Swedish cities or regions, and in the past it was important to be part of the nation that represented one's own hometown. Today, it is completely voluntary which nation you become a member of. Good to know is that whoever is a member of a nation has access to the nightlife of all other nations (does not apply to members of Småland's nation).
Most people have something to gain from being part of a nation. If the business you are looking for does not exist, it can certainly be started - with your help. Since the nations do not intend to make money, the prices are also the lowest in the city, both when it comes to food and a cold beer at the bar. The nations are run entirely on a voluntary basis and there are many who choose to get a little extra involved in their nation. These students usually get a great community and happy memories for the rest of their lives.
