What is Studentlund?

Studentlund is the whole of Lund's student life brought together in one membership.

The student body consists of the nations, the Academic Association and the student unions. When you become a member of Studentlund, you get access to social fellowship and cultural events. You will also have the opportunity to influence your education, make contacts with the labour market, join the housing queue and much more.

One membership - the whole student life

Why should I be a member?

Studentlund is a membership made up of the so-called "three legs", which are the nations, the Academic Association and the student unions. This membership is not only the only one of its kind, but one of the strongest contributing factors to new students continuing to flock to Lund each semester. Studentlund gives you many opportunities to develop yourself and gain valuable knowledge and experience outside the lecture halls. Membership in Studentlund makes you a member of a nation, your union and the Academic Association. Membership gives you access to everything that makes Lund a great city to study in. Here you can read more about what each leg has to offer!

What do the nations, the Academic Association (AF) and the student unions do?

The main task ofnations is social activity outside of studies. The majority of the nations' activities are food services, pubs and nightclubs, but are complemented by sports activities, national newspapers, choirs, scholarships and housing, among other things. To access a specific nation's accommodation, you need to be a member of that nation.

TheAcademic Association (AF) is a non-profit organisation by and for students with the aim of bringing together and broadening the cultural and association life at Lund University. By offering support functions and premises in the AF building, it enables associations and individuals to carry out small and large initiatives that enrich Lund's student life. AF-borgen is the student house that offers study places in Café Athen during the day. In the evenings, the AF-borgen is the centre for many of the activities organised by AF committees and associations. AF also provides housing through the AF Bostäder foundation. The nearly 6,000 apartments are rented exclusively to students, making AF Bostäder the largest student housing company in Lund.

The Student Unions work primarily with educational monitoring, and aim to maintain high quality in all programmes at Lund University. In addition to educational monitoring, the student unions also organise social activities, contribute to business contacts, labour market days and lectures. They also organise welcome activities for new students.
