Find housing

As a new student, the housing situation in Lund can feel hopeless. Many students choose to live in residence, outside of Lund or alternatively for one or a few semesters. Since Lund is a good cycling city, you don't have to live in the center to easily get back and forth from your home. The important thing to think about is to join the housing queue as soon as possible, in order to have a chance of owning your own accommodation in Lund.

AF residences

AF Bostäder manages roughly 7000 homes and is southern Sweden's largest student housing company.
As a tenant or queuing member, you must be involved Studentlund also a member of the Academic Association.

Bopoolen.nu

BoPoolen is a housing agency run by Lund University's Student Unions (LUS). Via the website www.bopoolen.nu, private individuals can advertise for renting apartments, rooms and sofas. It's free to advertise, and BoPool has no queue system or fees.

BoPoolen's goal is to help students at Lund University find housing by helping them find ads from landlords for short or long-term rentals. To ensure the quality of the ads, they are reviewed before publication. Inappropriate ads or unreasonable terms are not accepted. Safety and safe accommodation is a priority for BoPoolen.

On the website you will also find useful information about rental agreements, laws and regulations for subletting as well as BoPoolen's contract proposal in Swedish and English. These contract proposals facilitate agreements between tenant and landlord.

Civil registration, housing allowance and home insurance

When you have found somewhere to live, it is important that you register, i.e. register yourself, there. This is so that you can apply for housing allowance, which you can only do in the municipality where you are registered. Change of address takes place via the Tax Agency in the form of a notification of a change in the national register when you move. The Swedish Tax Agency has no such cooperation with any private company and according to law, it is only to the Swedish Tax Agency that you can report a change of address in the population register. It's also free! Enter into www.skatteverket.se/studentflytt where it says about national registration for students.

Changing the civil registration is done fastest and easiest via the Swedish Tax Agency's e-service on the website. Swedish address change offers a paid service for time-limited forwarding. This service is not mandatory.
